Regrow is an innovative project and a partner of SilveiraTech, dedicated to the sustainable production of insects for human consumption, as well as the propagation of ornamental and forest plants in nursery conditions. Position Overview

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our growing team as insect and plant production technicians. The main focus will be on insect production, with additional responsibilities in the operation of the plant nursery. This is an excellent opportunity for those eager to learn, work hard, and develop skills in an innovative and pioneering project.

 

The main workplace will be in Cacilhas, Lousã, but occasional travel and temporary relocation within the region may be required. Activities may take place in various project-related locations, including other areas of Lousã, Aldeia da Silveira, and Aldeia da Cerdeira. We are looking for candidates with flexibility and availability to adapt to these potential changes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Support all stages of insect production, including feeding, monitoring, harvesting, cleaning, and maintaining optimal rearing conditions.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of insect rearing environments, ensuring strict hygiene and biosafety protocols (HACCP and GMP).

• Participate in the packaging, storage, and quality control of insect products.

• Contribute to the propagation and care of ornamental, forest, and horticultural plants in the nursery, including sowing, transplanting, watering, and phytosanitary monitoring.

• Maintain accurate records of production processes and outcomes for both insects and plants.

• Operate and perform maintenance on production equipment and tools.

• Ensure cleanliness and organization of all workspaces.

• Collaborate with the team in the implementation and improvement of production protocols.

• Support the training and supervision of new team members as the team grows.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic computer skills, particularly with Office tools

• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical or higher education in biology, ecology, agricultural sciences, food sciences, or related fields

• Previous experience in insect production, plant nurseries, or industrial production environments

• Experience with laboratory or food safety protocols, including HACCP and GMP procedures

• Basic skills in mechanics or industrial techniques

• Ability to communicate in Portuguese and English

• Flexible schedule and availability to work in shifts
