About Silveira Tech

Silveira Tech Re-generation Village is a visionary initiative dedicated to revitalizing 230 hectares of degraded land and three ancient villages in the Serra da Lousã mountains. Our mission is to demonstrate that harmonious coexistence with nature is possible through innovative regenerative forestry and agriculture. Position Overview

As a Regeneration Team Member, you will play a vital role in restoring degraded landscapes, supporting agricultural and forestry activities, and monitorizing and maintaining all the implementations already made. You’ll work hands-on in the field, operate equipment, assist in construction and hardscaping, and help manage volunteers. This is a demanding but rewarding opportunity for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a tangible impact.

The main workplace will be in Aldeias da Silveira, but occasional travel and temporary relocation within the region may be required. Activities may take place in various project-related locations, including other areas of Lousã and Aldeia da Cerdeira. We are looking for candidates with flexibility and availability to adapt to these potential changes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Forestry & Landscape Management

  • Chainsawing, brushcutting, and clearing vegetation following safety and environmental protocols

  • Planting, watering, and caring for trees and other vegetation; monitoring for stress or disease

  • Maintenance of previously restored areas and plantations

Implementation of the Regenerative Masterplan

  • Support in implementing the Regenerative Masterplan for the entire Project

  • Maintenance of all spaces already implemented.

Hardscaping & Construction

  • Assisting in the construction of garden features, boardwalks, decks, and erosion control structures

  • Supporting general repairs and site improvements.

Materials & Equipment Management

  • Assisting with procurement, loading, and transportation of materials.

  • Maintaining accurate inventory records; daily and weekly equipment maintenance

  • Keeping machines, tools, and communal spaces tidy and organized

Event & Volunteer Support

  • Helping set up, run, and clean up after on-site events.

  • Training, guiding, and supporting volunteers; fostering a positive and productive environment.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to operate company vehicles

  • Willingness to work hard and embrace the project’s long-term vision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with chainsaws, brushcutters, or heavy machinery (training can be provided)

  • Experience in forestry, agriculture, or environmental conservation

  • Knowledge of local plant species and ecosystems.

  • Driving license category C is a plus

  • Experience managing or working with volunteers

  • Mechanic experience is a plus

  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese and English

  • Knowledge in permaculture and syntropic practices
